Ultra Sound Scan

Your Journey, Our Ultrasound Excellence

Ultrasound scans are used to look at many different parts of the body including the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pelvic organs and joints. They can also be used to look at blood flow and to check for any thin, or blocked blood vessels.

Overview

Ultrasonography is a diagnostic imaging technique based on the application of ultrasound. It is used to visualize internal body structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, vessels, and other internal organs WITHOUT using any harmful rays. How does it work?

Ultrasound scans operate by utilizing sound waves to capture real-time or still images, generating colored and non-colored visuals, as well as 2D, 3D, and 4D images. The process involves applying ultrasound gel to the area of interest for lubrication and enhanced image production. A probe, resembling a stick with a round or bulgy tip of various sizes, is then placed in contact with your body. Sound waves transmitted by the probe produce images or videos on the computer monitor for examination. During an ultrasound, you typically lie on a bed and may be instructed to move or adjust your breathing as the scan progresses. For top-notch ultrasound services in Uganda, Ehsan Medical Centre stands out as one of the premier centers.
